Our History

A journey of growth and excellence since 1965

1965

Atlantic University was founded as Atlantic College with just 250 students and 15 faculty members, offering programs in liberal arts and sciences.

1975

The college expanded to include professional programs in business and engineering, and the student body grew to over 1,000.

1985

Atlantic College was granted university status and renamed Atlantic University, with the addition of graduate programs and research centers.

1995

The university established its first international campus and launched its global exchange program, welcoming students from over 50 countries.

2005

Atlantic University celebrated its 40th anniversary with the opening of the state-of-the-art Research and Innovation Center.

2015

The university was ranked among the top 100 universities globally and launched its ambitious 10-year strategic plan for sustainable growth and academic excellence.

Today

Atlantic University continues to thrive with over 20,000 students, 1,500 faculty members, and a global network of more than 100,000 alumni making a difference around the world.
